POVERTY || BLEEDING PEN

  When life injects you with the syringe of hardship Poverty flows in veins through relationship struggles begin down down the valley of life Sailing in an ocean blessed with wildlife .  You watch as your dreams capsize Into the ocean of pain and agony The survival of a sailor is an irony when it happens like  titanic .  When alive and all ambitions are chartered You become empty like a big gun without rounds of bullets .  When life plays you like a ball And your children rudely bawl When life speaks to your ears that you are a living dead .  When happiness is scarce  like virgins among university sisters And sadness makes the heart  The garden swims, in the pool of tears .  Your faith in God becomes your healer And afterlife becomes your ambition Heaven, you pray to,  to be fear With your generation For your misery worth countless generations. GIANT AT 60 || Abubakar Shettima

   We fought in tranquility,  For freedom in our mother's womb, She cried for our immaturity, To stand like an Iroko tree, In the forest full of wild animals.  In the field of her womb,  Battled her million times, Until she surrendered for our delivery,  In a direction-less forest, With no purpose to walk.  Like leaves dance to the rhythm of the storm, Singing and clapping sounds, Echoed in the four walls of the world,  For we are heroes; we claimed to stand,  On the land of blackish souls.  Mother walked up to heaven,  Her two fruits drizzling milky juice, Beyond the reach of her baby's mouth, That grew of malnutrition, Under the roof of a greenish hut.   Falling and rising like the dawn, Lurking behind the veil of night,  We become oblivious of the smiling faces,  Of education, Of health,  Of economy,  Of infrastructures, Until they disappeared like ashes.  Ra-ta-ta-ta-tataaa; bom-bom,  We send our helping-hands; daily,  To the early journey of no return,  For the living to t

THE BONES OF OCTOBER || Dan Stafford

The hollow hills of the Old Folk, How they whisper the cries of chill wind, The craggy place of stones and bones, All shadows and spiders, Grey with mist where the only lichen grow, No twig nor vine, Nor leaf and naught blade of grass, Cold bones ground upon the stones, Secret ways lit with torches of the dead, The place where the old souls of Celts grieve, Rusted with the ancient blood, Prey to the sins of Rome,  The ghosts of Lugh's children weep, Tears of frost and shards of ice, As the North Star pivots the World, Seeing what their progeny have become, Constellations bear baleful witness, For we are drunk on the altar wine of Rome, It is blood and dust, It is a dark harvest, Upon which October's barrows feed, So spider crawl, Spider bite, With your web of silken night, Winter comes to your cocoon, A thousand years before your June, Be silent, And close your black eyes.     MEET THE POET    Name :  Dan A. SPLIT STAR || MUBASSIRAH BINT SOLIH

  A beauty that wouldn't ever fade, As the stars never stop being a beautiful shade. A perfect bundle of joy and pride were you made, Such that nothing succeeds in obscuring your wade. For all, you were moulded, no doubt  High and low our sojourns have come about, Most adorable you remain even while wearing a weary pout. They'd ask: how do we manage to never travel down south? He was and still is a blessing from the Most High, Delivering beyond expectations: I wouldn't ever lie. Beyond dreams and empty promises: in his place, I'd gladly die. Indeed, with him I'm blessed with a bounty no price can ever buy! Who will try give a name to this bond we share? A fruit you are, from me, that I smile for what I bear. More than any other, you remain a jewel so dear. May the Almighty never leave you to yourself so that none shall you fear. Here's the trophy I bagged without blemish; such a feat! An embodiment of candies with no taint even in the least! For you is a deservi

HOPE || ADEMOLA HALIMAH

  In hardship and longing, he buried a sum of Rye, a rye whose destination, he knows not... Like a gentle harsh boy, he waters the dead earth, to infinite day of no realm, unsure of his own doing, sincere to the secale cerale Of utmost bewilderment, from early winter, loosing hope of possible harvest, ultimately Secale sprouts in autumn, His basket of expectation filled afresh, he nurtures on his aim, expecting soon a gigantic harvest, then in spring at last, he might dance home joyous; if his Secale hasn't befriend ergot... He realises he is been favoured, in the long run, in his time of waiting, the field is been prepared ahead, for possible future cultivation. Such is the faith of the lad, unsure of his own thild, predictably for a better later on, unaware his today's challenge, combats the possibly lingering ones. At last! his grain of thole, left his wretched earth fertile, after vigorous growth he surpresses, his noxious competitors with concrete  conviction! Thanks for r

TURBULENCE || BARSH

She came like a cool breeze --- with nimbles, gay and gracious air She spun, tossed and compelled my heart to submission She rustled far and wide, took all particles of love left in me The turbulence creeped in at the dead of the night. Oh sweet serenity, where have you  gone? Breeze turned wind, wind turned storm all within a twinkle of the eye, Maybe I fueled her anger, woke the beast in her --- Ravage, torment and intimidation. Oh sweet serenity, where have you gone? Now, I swim in regret I should have taken her for who she was. When the flower started to bloom in my heart, The wind doesn't calm me, but wilting all buds left in me Oh sweet serenity, where have you gone? THINGS THAT RESEMBLES THE NIGHT SKY | MISTURAH

She's so cool and calm,  Just like the night sky, Her shining hair adorned her ebony skin,  Just the way the stars beautify the night sky.  Her smell is someone refreshing and pleasant,  Just like the night breeze,  She's an epitome of beauty. Her perfect shape got me at first sight,  Like the rounded moon on the night sky,  Her sweet voice was another amazement.  Her majestic steps made me think if she's really from this world,  Her perfect and welcoming smile stuck words from coming,  Her benign heart, am sure is not from this world. Her perfectness resemble the night sky.  You may also like this ; SHORT STORIES 1)  Wuthering height return  2)  Fallen Angel   POEMS 1)  Hero number one  2)  Gay helmet  3)  Wisdom belongs to whore house   4)  Waiting for death penalty  5)  A platonic journey of my holy lips  6)  Love , a business for party  || SR Adeshina  7)  The greatest mechanic  || Lamidi Tunde Thanks for reading . MY LONGING HAND | BARSH

My longing hand craves for the stars day and night, beclouded by loneliness, holding the pictures of memories we shared --- A memory like a kettle with two spouts; dispensing hot and cold water of experience. My longing hand desires the gem  like a miner mining for treasures --- gold, diamond, pearl, ruby....... even rubbles, because they all have their separate uses. My longing hand longs for the flowers --- That filled my childhood with their sweet fragrances; Each scent makes me long the more, For those days spent in their gardens. My longing hand reaches for my phone with hope and determination to connect with all, but got stuck on some web-sights. It couldn't reach them all, yet, it longs for all.  1)  love a conundrum 2)  water war 3 ) Mannequin 4)  I shall (w)right my love tonight  5) Drowned the second time  SHORT STORIES 1)  Wuthering height return  2)  Fallen Angel   Thanks for reading , you worth it weight in gold.  Your comments and reactions are recognised and apprecia

DROWNED THE SECOND TIME | BARSH

In the sea of Love, I am about to drown the second time, Love' wings clipped, yet it flown the second time. Like, in chess game, forlorn captivated me, In a flash, a crown is placed on my pawn, the second time. Love, a player --- made me a laughing object, For you, I will house this clown the second time. Feared the flood drained all nutrients left, found myself in its realm, with its seed sown, grown the second time. In sight of an Angel; captivating, with her holy features, Won't I be let down the second time? Bashir, Bearer of glad tiding, gave out his heart  Oh God! Oh Muqalibal-quloob! (Controller of hearts)! don't let this heart mourn the second time. I Shall (W)right My Love Tonight | BARSH

I've written a number of poems, but my love, I shall (w)right tonight, I've written about the sun and the day, their familiarity worth no dime in my sight tonight. My heart beats in anxiety, yes! I'm a coward! Now I am ready to fight for my heart, and be its knight tonight. My aching heart is afire --- burning in anticipation of love, Oh flaming fire! take me up, and burn away my fright tonight. Oh my moon! Oh Habeebaty!( My love ) I am filled with your light tonight. Love --- the lines on my palms This, I shall recite tonight. Love has taken form in me, That I may lose myself in its delight tonight. Oh Habeebaty (My love)! call me Bashir, because to you, I have brought a glad tiding --- Together, we shall unite tonight. SHEMALE RULER | VIJAY NAIR

When I was  In the womb of my mom, My granny scanned  With her pale hand On the big belly of my mom She, at once, looked like  A primitive saint, Had gone to a deep meditation After a while she opened  Her *Nostradamus eyes, To predict faintly that It would neither be a male Nor a female offspring But a shemale! I was so angry  To protest  On my own way To piss off at her But how? Instead of an arousing penis,  Between my testicles There arose a small pond! I was so agitated  To disapprove her premature delusion But why? Instead of an armorial penetration  Into her testament, There arose a smack of ponder! But still a cloud of vengeance Surrounded my slender brain To sledge on her I grinned with my unborn teeth And took an undying wrath  With an oath I wouldn’t let her *ESP a reality that I wouldn’t be born as a shemale ! While diagnosed my mom was,  Our village lady doctor  Disagreed with my granny  And stubbornly declared that It would surely  Be born a male baby I was so happy to ch
